Saturday – October 16

9 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.

Retailer Education Seminar: Earn your certificate for completing certified retailer education.  Seminar educates licensees and clerks to prevent underage and other illegal sales - and teach you to find answers to your day to day questions.  An ABC Enforcement Agent will provide the direction you need to prevent expensive fines and preserve your valuable business license.  You will receive handouts to use in your business operation, including the retailer operational handbook.   This seminar qualifies for licensee diversions as required by the Division of ABC.  Participants will pass a test to earn their certificate of completion.  Pro-active training by licensees and their employees earns licensees positive mitigation in future administrative hearings.

12:00 - 1:30 p.m.

Legislators Luncheon - Fighting Strong Beer in Convenience Stores and Liquor Sales by Grocery Stores... and other issues from the State Legislature - An Informal Roundtable with State Legislators. Key to the KABR's efforts to represent Kansas liquor stores at the Kansas State Capitol are one to one conversations with current legislators.  We will discuss the Legislature's view of preserving the role of state licensed retail liquor stores as the safest place for the legal sale of adult beverages in Kansas.  Perhaps the most important role of KABR each year - our Association continues to keep harmful legislation at bay - such as bills introduced almost every year to allow Strong Beer Sales for Convenience Stores and Liquor Sales by Grocery Stores.  This is a critical opportunity - don't miss it!

1:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Education & Product Seminars

  • •§  Strategy Session – GOLD:  KABR members roundtable for discussing pending issues of interest for KABR and plan for the upcoming elections and fighting threats to our businesses from the grocery and convenience stores.
